Sebastian is truly a miracle baby. His first birthday is definitely something to be celebrated. Having two parents that are so in love with him, I was honored to document this milestone in Sebastian's life. Here are some of my favorite images from Emily, Roberto, and Sebastian's session. Seattle summers are definitely the best! When Emily and I were trying to decide on the time of their family session it looked like the morning was going to be cloudy. But, the sun came out right before their session so we had to find some shady areas at Greenlake to hide at. Here are my favorite images of Emily, Lindsey, Lilly and Crosby.        We are so excited for the latest addition(s) to our family! I'm going to be an aunt to TWINS!!! We are all so excited to find out what these little munchkins are going to be like. But for now here are my favorite images from the baby announcement session I photographed in Sunriver, OR. Congratulations on the great news, Marcin and Christina!        I figured since it's almost summer, it is time to post our spring break trip to the Lower Antalope, Grand, Zion, and Bryce canyons. I always fall behind on some of these posts. Hence it's been a couple months since our trip. Our itinerary was pretty fast and furious. 10 Days, four canyons, lots of hiking and driving. Our trip started at the end of March and ended in the first part of April. We flew into Phoenix on a Thursday night and had Friday and early Saturday to play in the sun and hang out by the pool. It was nice to get some sun after a long winter in the PNW and before we hit all the canyons where it was still pretty chilly.      On the way to the Grand Canyon we made a couple stops in Sedona. We just needed to stretch our legs and enjoy the scenery. We also visited the church that was built into a cliff.      We got to our hotel outside of the Grand Canyon National Park pretty late. We had enough time to grab some dinner and go to bed to rest up for our long day of adventuring. We got up early in the morning and were on the trail before 9 am. One tip as you enter the park is to purchase a National Park Pass if you are planning on visiting more than 2 parks. We didn't know about this option until the third canyon. The Grand Canyon was amazingly grand! It was amazing that such a natural wonder exists. We hiked a few miles down the canyon...it was a torturous climb back up. I really can't imagine doing any hiking here during the hot summer months. The day we were there the hottest it got was maybe 70 degrees. The Grand Canyon has a great bus system that is free with your entry to the park. It was nice to park our car and be able to hike some, get on the bus to see another part of the canyon and then hike a bit more. We stayed at the park for 12 hours since we wanted to see the sunset.             Our next stop was the Lower Antelope Canyon. This canyon requires a tour guide. We went with Dixie Ellis Tours. Our tour guide, Dezzi, was very informative and helpful with family photos. I got a lot of amazing images. Getting to this canyon was so confusing, though. It is very close to the Utah border and our phone GPS was confused as to what time it was. Needless to say we were nervous about being late, but in reality we ended up showing up early. So moral of the story, go by the time zone in Phoenix. Lower Antelope Canyon is an amazing natural wonder and definitely worth the tour. The whole tour lasts a little less than 90 minutes with lots of opportunities for Instagram-worthy photos.      On the way to Utah, we stopped by the Horseshoe bend. It was so windy! We only stayed long enough to explore and see the views. It is a little over a mile hike from the parking lot to see this natural wonder.     Our next home base was in Glendale, UT. It was cute little Airbnb cabin in the middle of nowhere, but it was in between Zion and Bryce Canyons. The next day we explored Bryce Canyon. We started off in our winter layers since it was still freezing. We decided to drive through all the view points first so it would warm up a bit. We then parked our car and started our hiking adventure. I honestly didn't think that Taylor, at six years old, would hike for long. That day we ended up hiking a total of 7 miles. I contribute it to the amazing views! It was a surprise as to what we would see next. Everything looked like another planet. This was definitely our favorite canyon.           Our last canyon was Zion. By this point we were pretty tired so we decided to do a short hike to the Emerald Pool. After we got there, we realized that we wanted to get away from the crowds. We embarked on the Angel's landing trail. It consisted of steep, switch backs for two miles. There was a bit of bribery involved to get Taylor to cooperate, but we got to the top. The last half mile was pretty treacherous and we opted to skip it. This day we hiked a total of 6.5 miles. On the way out of the park we found an awesome rocky mountain to run up. No one else around except us and nature.          We left Glendale for Salt Lake City. Here we got to hang out with family and see some parts of the city. We hiked Ensign Peak. It was so muddy and we got caught in a downpour. We ended our trip with a short visit to the Great Salt Lake. Warning...the lake stinks!        To date this was our most adventurous trip as a family. It was so fun to explore these new places that were so amazing, it seemed unreal at times. This is a trip we will never forget, but we are ready to plan more adventures in the future.
When Jennifer contacted me to do a 7th birthday photo session of Brielle, I was excited! Fun, girly images filled my head. We planned on getting some family photos as well, so we started with those. Little did I know I needed to hold on tight to my camera! Little brother, Cyland, was super fast! I was worried I didn't get any photos of him in focus. Turns out there were a few, but he is still my fastest mover during a photo session. Here are some of my favorite images of Jennifer, Chris, Brielle, and Cyland.           I had the pleasure of hanging out with baby Evelyn last week. She was such a perfect model and even gave me a few smiles! Big brother Ethan was so great with his sister during this session. Welcome to the world baby Evelyn and congratulations to Matt and Heather to the new addition.        
 When Michelle reached out to me letting me know she was pregnant with twins I was ecstatic! Amelia and Gabriella are the tiniest little ones I've photographed, but they already showed their personalities. As a photographer, I do love to pose babies at least for a few images. These girls gave me about five minutes of shut eye. Hence, most of their photos are of their amazing and alert faces. Congratulations to this new family of five! 
      Surprisingly, we found a Saturday in February when it wasn't raining for Kai's first birthday photo session. It was a bit chilly on the shores of Edmonds, but we made it work. Kai made my job so easy with all his smiles! Enjoy some of my favorite images from Natsumi, Fraser, and Kai's session!          Surprisingly an early morning in December, on the beach was a bit chilly! Jenny, Jason and Hudson kept warm by staying close. Here are some of my favorite images from the last session of 2017!          When I book a session in December there is a very high chance that we will have to reschedule due to rain/snow/etc. Last week's family session at Woodland Park was none of those! We had blue skies and chilly temperatures, but we managed to have a great time with Deborah, Brandon, Asa, and Gunner!           Diana really wanted to get her family pictures taken, rain or shine. So we went out in the rain and got some great images of Diana, Charley, Charlotte and Frankie. We definitely got some good smiles out of Charlotte, even with the downpour. Here are some of my favorite images.        After rescheduling due to snow and then rain, we got a sunny day at the Ballard Locks! With two kids and a dog there is always a possibility of someone not cooperating, but we managed to have some fun and get some great images. Enjoy this fall, sunny session with Karen, Eric, Flynn, Elena, and Kimba.        When Leah told me she could schedule a photo session at 3pm on a Sunday, I thought we'd have to cancel. The weekend was super rainy and pretty nasty. There was a window of no rain in the forecast on that Sunday and surprise...it was around the time of Leah, Nick, and Bianca's photo session! It was a pretty chilly beach session but we managed to have some fun with bubbles and lots of walking. Enjoy this adorable family and their fall beach session.          Last week I got to meet Allyson and Shane's new addition! Karson was born right around his due date and he was a big boy! At almost ten pounds, he is definitely the biggest newborn I've photographed. He was a great model. Enjoy this little guy!         I'm sure raising twins is hard, but Hailey and Matt made it look easy! This was a very smiley family, except for Carley. Carley decided that she wasn't happy being a model and every time I tried to take her picture she gave me a stone face. We did get her to smile at the very end of the session and I have to say she has a great smile! Hope you enjoy these favorites of Matt, Hailey, Carley and Cameron...and the family dog!         The challenge of working with young kids is their strong personalities. Reese (almost two years old) definitely ran this photo session! Between her frowns and strong feelings of what to do next, we had to work with her! We did find some fun sticks and leaves to play with. Reese wasn't a big fan of dahlias, though. Johnna, on the other hand, was a little smiling 6 month old. We had a lot of fun exploring Volunteer park on a very sunny morning. Here are some of my favorite images from Shannon and Patrick's family session.         When Wendi suggested we meet at the Echo Falls Golf course for her family session, I thought for sure someone was going to get hit by a golf ball! The good news is that no one got hurt and we got to see frogs, bees, and waterfalls. Greyson had a lot of fun running away and refusing to smile (as expected from a two year old) and Cole just showed off his pearly whites the whole session. The weather cooperated and we came away with some great images. Here are some of my favorites.           With two toddlers and a baby, you never know what will happen at a photo session. When I met up with Kirsten and Brian we knew we needed to take this photo session in the fun direction. Eva and Kai threw rocks in the lake and ate some blackberries. It was a great morning at the lake and we missed the rain by 10 minutes. This was such a fun session with an amazing family. I had so many favorites from this session. Enjoy this adorable family!           There's no better time to get family pictures than when you have grand-babies! Even more so if those grand babies are born 3 weeks apart! I was really happy when Debra asked me to take some family pictures of her amazing family, especially since one of the family members is one of my best friends. Here are some of my favorite images!           Allyson, Shane and Tessa are ready for their new addition! Will it be a boy or girl? Sunday was an iffy day for this session since we were dodging some sprinkles. But we had a lot of fun incorporating some props into this maternity session. I have to say Tessa is going to be a great big sister! She was a great model, always looking toward the camera. Congratulations on this new chapter in your lives Allyson, Shane and Tessa! Here are some of my favorite images from this fun session.          I know every parent says that time goes by so fast when it comes to their kids growing up. I sometimes feel like that is the case but other times not so much. Taylor is now a six year old! She has done so much growing up in the last year. She definitely has her difficult days/times but most of the time she has grown to be a pretty fun little person. This year she chose a tea party for her birthday theme so we went out and had a fun tea party at the park. Happy birthday, Taylor!           The light was really weird at Carkeek Park on Saturday morning due to the wild fires in BC. At 10am the sun looked as orange and yellow as it does at sunset. The light and the energy of this family was amazing! Here are a few of my favorite images.        I normally see Lauren, Eric and Campbell in the fall, but they wanted to do something different and try out a summer session this year. Between the smokey haze from the wildfires and fog, this wasn't a very sunny session, but it was a fun one as always! When you photograph a child from the time they were 6 months old it's always fun to see how they have grown in the last year. Campbell is no exception! I had so much fun with this family.        Turning one is such a big milestone. It's more fun with cake, though! On Sunday, I had the pleasure of documenting Hudson's first cake smash. What a trooper, he was! Apparently he loves sugar and had a great time getting dirty in the frosting. Here are some of my favorite images from his cake smash, as well as some family shots with mom and dad!               I have to admit, I plan vacations based on the beauty of the surroundings. I usually Instagram locations and decide if that is something I would love to see. I am lucky that Tom will go with the flow and is open to my (sometimes crazy) ideas. My latest idea for a trip was to see Big Sur in Northern California. We had everything planned out and then the rain came and ruined part of that plan. A few weeks before our departure, Northern California had some flooding that caused some damage to roadways. When we got to Monterey I knew that we wouldn't get to see all of Big Sur (the road was closed due to damage from flooding). From what we experienced, I know we will have to come back to see all of Big Sur some day. Most of our trip was spent around Pacific Grove and Monterey. At the very end we decided to make a quick trip to San Francisco because we always loved it there! Here are some of my favorite images of this beautiful area.
